Hello,
My name is Kenneth Victor Bearce. My first name is after my father and my middle name is after my moms father Victor Viglo. I feel
that may be important to you because my family history is important to me. Besides, most of the music and stories on this site were
written because of true life experiences and life experiences are what history is.
My younger brothers name is Jack Edward Bearce. His first name is after my fathers, father Jack Bearce and his middle name is
after our moms brother, Edward Viglo.
My youngest brothers name is James Laurence Bearce. Mom and Dad gave him that name just because they liked it.
When I was 13 years old my fathers brother , Bill, gave me a Golden Hawaiian guitar for a birthday present . (MISTAKE)
A friend of mine and his dad taught me how to play a few cords and when to change them in a song. They also tough me how to
tune my guitar but, I didn't know, and didn't care about a reference tone called A 440. As a result, I was not able to play along
with any of the music on the radio.
So I started making up my own songs. I didn't know how to write music so I just wrote down the words and put the cord name above
them. Then I would play the song over and over until I knew it by heart.
As time went on, my brothers got into music too. Beside playing the bars and putting out Records, Jack became a music teacher.
I got married and gave up music to become an auto body repair man and painter.
Jim also had a band but his sights were set on recording his music. He recorded several tunes at several major recording studios.
When my wife and I broke up, it was only natural for me to turn to my guitar for comfort and start writing heart break songs.
Jim talked me into buying a four track tape recorder, a mike mixer and some headphones. As you might expect, the recording bug
bit me!
We set up our little recording studio in Jacks living room and wet to work recording all of our songs with a single caustic guitar and
a voical. Then Jim added his Bass. Then Jack added some electric rhythm and some leads. Then we punched in some hormones
and WALLA CA ZAM. We had some real music!
That summer we burned up three sets of recording heads as we recorded over 100 rolls of 12 inch tape and it all had to be mixed
down to stereo so we bought a 2 track mastering machine.
We had several 45 rpm. Records pressed and a few LP's too. Our tunes were played on the radio and got great reviews from
California all the way to England.
And that is where it all started. The birth of ARLO RECORDS, BEARCE PUBLISHING and BEARCE BROTHERS PRODUCTIONS.
Now we are on the World Wide Web. I hope you enjoy our CD's.
Thank you, Kenny V. Bearce
